Effective July 1, 2001, the Recorder of Deeds will no longer accept U.C.C. Chattel filings, except U.C.C.'s that pertain to real estate. All U.C.C. Chattel filings that were filed in our office prior to July 1, 2001 will remain effective until their five-year duration expires.
Our office will continue to provide access to the U.C.C. Chattel records for searches on previous filings until June 30, 2006. Terminations on these records can also be filed in our office. However, all other U.C.C. Chattel filings must be filed at the Secretary of State.
